Thanks to all who came along to our Pop-up Market recently – friends, family, neighbours and strangers alike. We had a lovely weekend, made a few sales and were fortunate to enjoy almost perfect weather! Thanks, too, to those who bought paintings of mine at the Easter Show this year. One of them – certainly a favourite of mine – is pictured above. For me, ‘Afternoon Shadows’ is a reminder of my mum, and a lovely night away we had long ago. I hope it means something equally as special to its new owner.
Coming up in Sydney soon is the annual Writers’ Festival, and although I miss the old venue (The Walsh Bay Arts Precinct), Carriageworks certainly holds its own unique charm! I will be attending a few events – not only at Carriageworks but also Sydney Town Hall and the State Library.
And of course there is the usual flow of art exhibitions coming up. I’m really pleased to have been selected as a finalist in the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition with two of my works – one from ‘The Gumleaf Collection’ and another from my latest series, ‘Chasing Waterfalls’. Throughout July, a selection of paintings from ‘The Gumleaf Collection’ will be on show and for sale at Marie-France in the gorgeous little shopping mall at West Pymble, or if you’re looking to see something further afield, The Australian Society of Miniature Art has a show on now up in Armidale, while the annual Singleton Art Prize will be held later in July. I will have works hanging in all these events, and more, detailed below.
