Following on from last month’s entry, my friends have had their Christmas wreath workshop and their finished wreaths are shown above. How beautiful are they? I was so pleased with what they created and I know they were, too, so if you’re interested in coming along to make a wreath of your own, send me an email and I’ll send you the details.
It’s now Springtime in Sydney and we’re off to a summery start (which I guess is not surprising after such a mild winter) and so I’m trying at the moment to get back into my Wednesday Project, taking a day out each week or so to go somewhere I wouldn’t normally go, or have been meaning to get to for ages. And given that it’s Spring, what better time is there to visit a few gardens?
A couple of weeks ago I went along to the Cherry Blossom Festival at Auburn Botanic Gardens. I didn’t even know about these gardens until about year ago, and this particular festival is of course only on for about a week each year. Following soon after that, I visited Hornsby Park to see the new Crusher Plant Precinct – also something I learned about only recently – and then yesterday I went out to Kenthurst to visit Boongala Gardens, a wonderful place a friend told me about not too long ago (and somewhere that is also only open to the public for a limited time each year). All of these were certainly worth the visit and I’m not done yet!
But as far as my painting goes, there is also a lot happening right now, so read on …
